About the Author

David was born in central Ohio all the way back in 1968. He graduated from Highland High School in Sparta, Ohio in 1987 and went into the United States Navy shortly after that. David met his wife Misty during Desert Shield and they were married in early 1991 during Desert Storm while they were both stationed in California.

That same year after they were both discharged, they moved back home to Ohio and started their family. Over the next fourteen years David and Misty had been blessed with four beautiful children. At the time of this writing, those four children have given their parents enough grandchildren to start their own Jedi Academy.

David spent most of his adult life working in the Trades as a driver, a heavy equipment operator, and a teledata technician. He was diagnosed with Diabetes in 2003. Between the disease and all of the bumps and bruises he gained along the way, David stopped working outside of the home in September of 2022. Three months after that time, he completed the Dawning manuscript which he had been working on for several years.

Since completing the first manuscript, it has been an incredible learning curve. David has been truly blessed by the people surrounding him. From members of his immediate family, to dear friends from church, to the folks he grew up going to school with… blessed indeed. David and Misty formed the Ramey Publishing Corporation on November 19, 2023. From this platform, David will produce his own stories as an Independent Author.

The Story Arc

The Evil in the World Saga is planned to be a six book story of Apocalyptic and Post Apocalyptic Fiction. The story takes place in the last quarter of the 21st Century, in a time when the world has grown so evil and corrupt that it appears that Hell itself has taken control. It revolves around Avery Lucas and the Lucas Family as they try to keep their faith while fighting to survive against the evil rising up around them.

This is an epic tale of hope, loss, disobedience, learning, redemption and salvation.

The journey begins in Dawning with the Lucas family and will continue with Faithful: Book II of the Evil in the World Saga.

Dawning: Book I

The story of Avery Lucas and his family begins in Dawning: Book I of the Evil in the World Saga. Avery is a US Navy veteran who now serves as a private security agent for a US Congressman in Washington DC. Having seen so many horrible atrocities while in the service, Avery uses his position to glean information that he might use to better protect his family against the chaos growing in the country.

It all begins as Avery is making his way home from work when suddenly the largest, loudest, most incredible blaring sound erupts and is heard around the world. From this Clarion Call, all sorts of oddities begin to happen around the Lucas family and their small hometown. Ahrie Lucas, Avery’s wife, becomes a fountain of faith for the family as the situations go from bad to worse. Avery finds himself struggling to find his own faith, as well as focusing on protecting his family.

The family faces many trials and difficulties in the days following the Clarion Call. They have more questions than they can find answers for.

Our Mission & Goals

My mission is to produce and provide a finely crafted story that will bring out the emotions of my readers. I want the readers to cheer and weep for the heroes and to curse the villains. If my readers are late for work because they stayed up too late reading one of my stories, then I’m doing my job!

My end game is to tell stories that show the reader that no matter how terrible life is, there will always be redemption and salvation through Jesus Christ.

I believe that my values are the backbone of my writing and of the Ramey Publishing Corporation, and those are Christian values. Many of my stories may be very violent and extreme, but those are simply parts of the action for effect. My stories will never be raunchy or smutty.

I believe that the Lord has placed this story in me. He has provided a means for me to write that story. I enjoy being His instrument. For my first series of books the overall theme is one that anyone can relate to; terrible things can happen to good people, people turn their backs on God, then people find redemption and finally salvation through the Atonement of Jesus Christ.

Our mission at Ramey Publishing is much the same as Luke Chapter 15. Through our stories we want to touch or find the lost one and give them hope and a means to come home.
